Comic Shop Corner: November 6, 2013

Halloween is over, but comics can't stop, won't stop. Thank god I'm not dreaming... Let's take another stroll over to Comic Shop Corner...

Dark Horse Comics

Baltimore: The Infernal Train #3

This mini series from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola concludes with the third issue of this horror-action-adventure. Baltimore jumps aboard the Infernal Train and fights high-priest vampires and an evil witch to stop them from resurrecting a vampire god. Mike is Dark Horse's Scott Snyder... Abe Sapien, Hellboy, B.P.R.D. and now Baltimore have all flourished under his pencil and with great art by Baltimore artist extraordinaire Ben Stenbeck. This is sure to entice new and old Baltimore fans.

Also available: Star Wars (Lucas Draft) #3, Grindhouse: Doors Open At Midnight #2, Occultist #2, Michael Avon Oeming's The Victories #6, Catalyst Comix #5, and many more!

DC Comics

Superman Unchained #4

For those who haven't been reading this series, you have been missing out, however DC has recently announced that, in true Jim Lee style, they are skipping January's issue and also that Jim Lee and Scott Snyder may only be on this book for the first 10 or so issues, so it'll be interesting to see if it holds up in the long term but for now it's a tremendous read. Superman rushes to stop Ascension's attack and kicks off a huge battle with Wraith! Besieged on all sides, Superman has no choice but to call in some powerful friends...

Also available: Detective Comics #25, Forever Evil #3, Green Lantern #25, Trillium #4, Action Comics #25, Batman/Superman #5, Green Arrow #25, Earth 2 #17, Swamp Thing #25, Movement #6 and many more!

Transformers: Dark Cybertron #1

The end of everything! Shockwave makes a move millions of years in the planning-an ultimate plan to remake Cybertron and destroy both the Autobots and Decepticons! Bringing together the casts of the hits More Than Meets The Eye and Robots In  Disguise for the first time in two years! This is how much of a joke crossovers have become... "In two years" becomes a long length of time but when you promise lasting repercussions in the Transformers universe, you'll have a lot of people reading.

Spotlight

Valiant Comics: Quantum & Woody #5

All-new arc, all-new jumping-on point! All-new...problems? For those of you who don't know about Quantum & Woody here is a refresher... Eric Henderson and Woodrow Van Chelton are adoptive brothers. After years of estrangement they are brought together by the mysterious death of their father/foster father. They set out to find their father's killer and, in the course of their investigation, are accidentally imbued with powers. So what happens in this newest arc well their lives are turned upside down at the conclusion of the first arc, afterall now they have to live together, with a goat, and a barely legal clone girlfriend, then again a secret HQ is useful for any hero. In this issue specifically Quantum has a run in with his very first super-villain.

Well alas another week is gone by, I'm going to miss talking about comics with...er... to you. But hey just 7 short sleeps until a new Comic Shop Corner. This is DonnyForTheWin jacking out (Megaman NT Warrior reference you perv!)
