Hello fine readers. Today I'm re-ranking the Rock Sound list of 100 best Pop Punk Albums as voted by their readers (find that list HERE). Special: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Mute, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies Mini-Reviews

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom:

Synopsis: IIt's been three years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who's still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

My thoughts: It tried to tone down the action in favour of suspense similar to the original Jurassic movie however it didn't quite do it that well but it nailed the best parts from World and built further so that's good for me.

Final verdict: 4 sad brontosaurus scenes out of 5.

Mute:

Synopsis: Berlin, the future, but close enough to feel familiar: In this loud, often brutal city, Leo (Alexander SkarsgÄrd) - unable to speak from a childhood accident - searches for his missing girlfriend, the love of his life, his salvation, through dark streets, frenzied plazas, and the full spectrum of the cities shadow-dwellers. As he seeks answers, Leo finds himself mixed up with Cactus Bill (Paul Rudd) and Duck (Justin Theroux), a pair of irreverent US army surgeons on a mission all their own. This soulful sci-fi journey from filmmaker Duncan Jones ( Moon, Source Code, Warcraft) imagines a world of strange currencies in which echoes of love and humanity are still worth listening to.

My thoughts: I mean, points for having big ambitions but you have Rudd and Theroux trying so hard to be funny and likable despite their unlikable personalities and they might have pulled it off if it wasn't for the miserable plot and script (tonally and in actuality) thus removing about the only good thing that may have come out of this movie.

Final verdict: 2 WTF moments out of 5.

Teen Titans Go! To The Movies:

Synopsis: When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! "Teen Titans GO! to the Movies" finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza - a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers. It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation, and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously super villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

My thoughts: I get the hate towards Go!... kinda. Most people blindly hate it without watching it but love other shows cut from the same cloth (Spongebob, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc.). The jump to the big screen was risky but they pulled it off phenomenally as this is currently in the running for best animated film this year.

Final verdict: 4 Superhero films out of 5.
